My first baby gift...

Following my blog about how many members of staff were leaving for maternity, I began to get a little crafty with cushions! This is my first to finish so far and I have ensured that I use neutral colours and theme, as none of them know what they are expecting! I am really chuffed with how it has turned out, especially as it is now my second attempt at making cushions! Let me know your thoughts on it...or any ideas for my next!

At last...some work!!

Hello my lovelies, hope you are well! As you can see, I have done little in the way of renovating over the past week...it's the life of a teacher! Bring on the 6 glorious weeks of Summer hols and I hope to bring you much more! But for the moment, let me share with you my latest project! Having brought this 1930's seamstress table on Ebay for the pricely sum of 99p, I am now in the process of sanding it down and giving it a little paint, in the hope of acheiving that shabby chic look that we all love so much! Will update with more photos soon xx

My wish list...

Now it's fair to say that my wish list is ever growing, with all the beauts I see in the shops, on TV and on the web...I just can't get away from it! So it's really no fault of my own that naturally I have developed a 'crush' for a floor lamp! I almost managed to get one on ebay but as per usual some 'pro' comes along at the last minute and snatches the win! My main reason for wanting one is of course not related to it's practicality but infact due to a recent purchase of some cream wire that had beautiful cream, gently glittered roses intwined within it. Now having had no reason to buy it and really no extra cash for it, I of course brought it?! Now to find a use for it! Well, I started thinking about how I could use it and thought it would look beautiful wrapped around the stand of a floor lamp. Please help this hummingbird and keep your eyes peeled for one....Thank you lovelies

The Great Baby Boom!

Working as teacher in an Infant School, surrounded by a young, female staff, inevitable means a baby or two! But this year we have a record 4 teachers off to have babies this summer!! I, myself, have been doing my utmost to steer clear of this apparent epidemic! However, it has given me the chance to think about baby gifts for them...time to get my creative hat on...

SOLD!!

Well hello lovely people, I bring good news! I have been approached by someone wanting to purchase one of my wicker chair renovations! I am so surprised and extremely flattered! Now, as a result, I need to get cracking on the other two but just can't decide between fabrics for the cushions. Am thinking either gingham, floral or love hearts, what do you think? Any other ideas?

Ooh a lil discovery....

It's safe to say that I was not like most children growing up, after discovering an old collection I used to love....tragically it wasn't anything cool but infact....beads!! Ha ha! Oh dear, not exactly the most exciting child! Anyhow, it's started me thinking about some little creative crafts I could make using the beads...watch this space for more info!

What to do next???

Hello lovely people, as a busy teacher, I don't have the luxury of being able to do much during the week, however, I did manage to give the pine table it's final coat of paint & also had a beautiful, antique side table delievered from a charity shop....so here it is! I hope you like! No plans to revamp it, as it is in beautiful condition! Note the lion head drawer handles! LOVE!

Cute Heart-Shaped Baskets

I found these lil cuties in a local charity shop, all three for just £2.75! Their original look was quite dark wicker with a cheap, shiney gold trim. I snapped them up, took them home and gave them a quick spray paint with 'Plasti-Kote' in antique cream! They make gorgeous little storage pots! Bargain!

My table restoration....

From this.....to this.....

This was a really simple way to give the table a new life, all it took was a quick, light sanding and a few coats of paint! I used 'Fired Earth' paints, created by Kevin McLeod, they were very simple to use, fast drying and he has a range of gorgeous 'country cottage' colours!

Chair update!!

Have had a very busy weekend in my attempt to become more creative! This has led to one chair being completed....hand stitched cushion and all! Have also purchased an old pine table which I have now lovingly restored with a new paint job! Hope you like....

My first adventure....

So here it is, my first venture into renovating furniture! Thought I'd start with an easy one, so have brought 3 of these wicker chairs on Ebay! Am hoping to paint them and make some little floral cushions for them & possibly re-list them on ebay once I'm done....may keep one as a momentum tho! I'll keep u posted! xx

Ahh and I love this little beautiful doorstop! I really am becoming so inspired to get creative....can it be that difficult?! Any advice or 'how to's' welcome! xx

Brought this gorgeous wicker ottoman on Ebay, so chuffed! It is absolutely gorgeous...perfect for storing my ever growing shoe collection! xx
